These estimators are very easy to use if you follow a few basic rules.
The yellow boxes are the input fields, you will need to delete the zeros to get the correct input values, you can delete these one at a time when you come to them as you input values.
When you come to the image size input fields and are working with fractional sizes you need to round the fractions up to the nearest inch as these estimators do not support fractions, on the flip side to this if you are working with whole numbers add one inch to the total here is a example: Fractional numbers, length = 9.25 width = 7.50 if you are inputting this would become length = 10 width = 8 , now working with whole numbers the example would be, length = 8 and width = 10 it would then become length = 11 and width = 9 the reason for this is to allow waste for your vinyl cuts or over ride on your ink cost. Please don't worry if you mess up you can allows delete the values in each individual box and input the correct values without doing any harm to your final numbers even if you are completely done with your estimate.
In the first labor box this field will allow you to input a value for cut and weeding of your transfers , if you are working in ink jet estimator and are not using a cutter to contour cut this would be the labor field for contour cutting by hand also.
When you are cutting and weeding transfers you need to add extra dollar amounts to cover the costs of using your cutter, eventually you will need to replace blades, belts, motors or even the whole cutter or just upgrade or add another cutter to your production line. If you are doing this yourself you need to pay yourself just as you would have to pay an employee so input your normal hourly wage or that of your employee plus a dollar or two extra for your cutter. Remember this is just not cutting and weeding but also getting the transfer ready for application.
The second labor input field is for heatpress as above you need to add a little dollar value for your heatpress, the time it takes to actually press is very small but in this section you must also consider the time it takes to get your shirt ready to press, peeling your transfer, folding and getting the shirt ready for packaging or shipping.
Profit percentage, this is where you add your profit for your job, remember we have already estimated the total shirt costs so this is your bottom line, what I do is add a small percentage in this field for boxing costs even if I am using the original box the shirts came in I still have a small percentage for that on my calculations.
So thats all there is to it, the more you work with the estimators the faster you will get and the more time and experience you gain you will know how long it takes to do each step of production and things become easier for you just remember don't guess always use your estimator to establish your prices, it only takes a few seconds to stay profitable.
Disclaimer: The calculations done by this estimating software are accurate to a certain tolerance, the input values are of your own experience and we have no way of knowing if they are factual, we do not make any claim implied or expressed and or guarantee or warranty on production costs or profitability resulting in the use of our estimators.
